I would advise against it. The Trans won't take all the extra power and you will blow it up. CD4E trans has enough problems staying together with 150 hp attached to it.

who said he was running the CD4E?

Anyways if he is, the CD4E basically just breaks itself. Its already runs extremely hot due to a poor tranny cooler. However, if it is upgraded to an external tranny cooler, it can be made more reliable. I know a guy on contour.org had a supercharged automatic making about 180 hp and it held up fine.

If its the MTX-75, then id say its pretty much bullet proof to a stock zetec. It doesnt make enough torque to really due any damage. Only thing that really needs to be upgraded for high horsepower applications is the differential with a quaife or torsen. After that, its been shown to handle up about 500 hp.

"IF" is a big word here. I installed an aux cooler on my CD4E and it made a big difference. If he has an MTX I agree with you, it can handle it.
He is somewhat vauge on the discription.

Re: Turbo for a Contour?

if you have an auto i wouldnt even take the money to modify it. unless you swap a 5 speed.

hectors car put down 166fwhp and 140+wtq and barely broke mid 16s. the car had TONs of potential but the tranny was holding him back more than you could imagine.

You can run a turbo kit on a mtx75 and have no worrys, just dont go too wild..

AFAIK, people make turbo kits for the zetec but they are not 100% bolt on, i know you have to make a new d/p among other things. id also shy away from a FMIC due to there isnt very much air that goes into the radiator as it is.
