dash clicking noise

I have just noticed a clicking noise coming from the dash. Sounds like it is coming from the defrost vent. Only when idling at stop light and parked idling. Stops when you accelerate from stop and doesn't do it after you have been driving for awile. if anyone can help please.

Does it sound like a mechanical click, or does ti sound like interior plastic rubbing together under the vibrations of idleing?

It is not really a mechanical sound, but it is not a squeakingnoise like other interior plastic rubbing sound i have heard. I also just noticed to day that it also stops when i am at a light and i hear my ac clutch stop spinning.

Re: dash clicking noise

Try running your motor in drive with the brake and A/C on and check under the hood. Maybe you can find the noise that way. Its possible it could be coming from your A/C clutch vibrating on ideal. I've seen that happen when one of the rivits broke off.

Re: dash clicking noise

Try re-setting your trip odometer. I have found that if it is'nt re-set properly, it will stick and cause a clicking sound.
