96 lumina noise
I kept on driving my 96 lumina for about 65 miles without any coolant in it. Now there is a noise different from the regular engine noise. It sounds like an old fan running making a high frequency clanking noise. I have stopped driving my car. Does anybody know what this noise would be and how to fix it.

Can't tell in this environment, coolant in the oil, what is the oil pressure, I think some one has to do on site diagnosis with this.

Re: 96 lumina noise
My guess is it's not good. Take the belt off and start it for a minute. If the noise is still there, you probably hurt that motor pretty good.
If it's gone with the belt off, the water pump might be coming apart. Where'd your coolant go, anyways?

Re: Re: 96 lumina noise
I didn't check it for a long time and it was too late I guess before I realized.
