I have a 93 cutass v6 that has started to backfire and jerk upon heavy throttle application or during increased load (when warm). Any Ideas?

Thanks

Plugs, wires, possible coils, low fuel pressure, needs to be checked out on site.

Re: 93 cutlas backlfire

Sounds to me like your timing jumped take a socket and breaker bar and put it on your lowest pully on the passenger side of your motor (the harmonic balancer) and rotate it back and forth and see how much play it has u will feel tension because u have compression and such but u will still feel a slight bit more tension when the timing chain tightens up and if u can move the breaker bar anywhere over 1-2" u need to have the chain replaced i have done this job on to many cars to name.... and it kinda sucks
