We need a bit more information to determine the problem. How many miles are on it...errr kilometers? When is the last time you did a tune up, and what did you change. My first guess though is that the O2 sensor shit the bed on you, and its about 30 bucks, plus you need a special socket that is about 10. But thats just a guess as we have no other details.

Thanks JerodKing for the reply... the mileage is 147,000 km. I did a tune up about 1 month back.. A new timing chain was installed and a new air filter and new bushes for the front suspension.

Another observation is that, the car does not accelerate much when i ON the AC. there is a sudden drop (big drop) in the engine power when i ON the AC .

little bit vibrating when idling also. i also put a new Fuel Filter...

Hope this info helps.. pls give a clue , thannx

this is for my 1993 sentra se-r... well it is getting bad gas mileage. i mean very bad. like around 10-12 miles a gallon. (in town) my tranny slips, but should it make it use that much gas? or would it be that oxygen sensor?

I shouldn't be talking since I havent replaced mine yet, but just spend the $70, and buy the O2 sensor. Install it, and if that doesn't work get back to us. I'll update you if it fixes my consumption problem later this week.

im 17 and in high school so 70 bucks for something that might work is expensive. i used to get good gas mileage and the tranny slipped then. its like it happened over night.over drive in the tranny doesnt work any more either.. (thats how bad the tranny is) i just need to look at every angle before buying something thats expensive.

A new O2 Sensor for my GA16DE in a 92 was only 30 bucks for a Bosch, which is OEM. Do you have a voltmeter, you could test your O2 sensor.

In small 4 cylinder cars the AC always kills alot of power, thats why I ripped mine out. If you did a full tune up, I would suspect its the O2 sensor. Oh and to help with the vibrating when idling, I would clean the Idle Air Control Valve.
