Angry 2002 Bravada Paint

Hello. Quick question for anyone with a 2002 or newer Bravada. The paint on the rear doors right in front of the rear tires is chipped up badly and looks white due to rocks kicking up off the front tires I am assuming. I put on mud flaps now but to late to save it. Does anyone know if GM is responsible for this? I have seen the same thing on the Trailblazers and Envoys. Thanks for the input. I guess Quality Control is not a concern to GM.

Re: 2002 Bravada Paint

Olds designed the Bravada to look cool and that included the wheel/body stance and you gotta admit, it looks cool. Great looking vehicle.
Now you gotta address the results...rock chips.
I've found the more aggressive tire treads hold bigger rocks and release them at higher road speeds resulting in big chips in the paint, so I run less aggressive all season tires, don't go off-road and only go out when absolutely necessary when it snows.
Oh, and also got pretty good at touching up the chips in the paint. :>]

I had that problem on my old Safari van too. I masked off the damaged area with tape and sprayed it with black rubberized undercoating. It held up to the rock damge and looked kinda cool too.
