99 LHS- Wont shift into Park
My 99 LHS was working fine, and all of a sudden one morning I was going to park it, and the floor shifter moved all the way to the "park" position on the floor, however the dashboard indicator showed that it was in reverse, and wouldn't move and further forward to park. I now have to park it in gear, with the emergency brake on, and start it in neutral. I am able to get the key out of the ignition because the ignition linkage to the floor shifter snapped (a recall, I believe, that has already been "fixed"...). Does anyone have any idea what this problem entails? Thanks for any help.

Re: 99 LHS- Wont shift into Park
it sounds like your shifter linkage is seriously binding. Since there was a recall for that, get that done along with the park/interlock on your ignition key.

Did that work for you, I have the same issue. Except that now that I have placed it in parking it will not come out of parking? Please help if you resolve yours, what did you do?
