Advice for this Mustang

Hello, everybody. I am planning on buying a 1998 Mustang, so I (not really myself) can fix it up, and then sell it.

First question: should I just fix it, or should I buy performance parts for it. I have enough money for about $8,000 in parts And I know that I will need $2,000 to fix the body. The body is the only thing that seems wrong with it.

Second question: does anybody know where a store is that sells 1968 Mustang parts? I hate going up to college and my Mustang's performance sucks. And then people look at my car and just laugh. Money is not a major problem, because I have savings. But I just can't find a place with performance Mustangs parts for a 1968 one in Atlanta.

1998 Mustangs (I guess you mean a GT?) arent the best for performance. Unless you do a PI swap you are basically waisting your time.

A 1968, well that depends on what motor it has? Any heads, cam, intake swap with some exhaust and maybe a new carb would really pick that thing up.

Give us some more info and we can do a little better job of helping you out.

a 98 mustang wouldent really be a good invertment. a 60's mustang would be better. and i would go on google and ebay to look for the 68 parts. what type of parts do u need?

I decided to not buy the 1998 Mustang. But instead, I just bought a beat-up 2000 Mustang GT Billit. I have already bought an exhaust system, forged pistons, and new camshafts for this model.

good call not getting the 98 as they are real dogs when it comes to performance. you bought a "beat up" bullitt? what do you mean by that? i think the bullitt is a cool car as is the mach 1. are you planning on forced induction? im assuming so cuz you bought forged pistons and new cams. if you're gonna tear apart the engine to install those pistons you might as well upgrade the rest of the short block with forged internals.i like the fact that they come with an aluminum intake unlike the cheap plastic ones in regular GT's. also the 4.6 in the GT is a 2V. the 4V is found in the mach 1's and cobras.

good call with the bullet. Them cams musta set you back over $500. If you put em on as a first mod or while its still semi-stock i'd like to know what kind and how much they did.

I personally love the old 289s. another good thing with the 4v. Anyone who laughs at a classic like that can suck my balls.

I'm a little confused, I thought that Ford only made one engine and all the performance or lack of was done in the computer. I have a number of CVPI's and have been told it's the same engine as the Town car, Merc and the Mustang just different computer settings.
