Question My 96 Achieva

Help!!!!! My husband has been trying to get my car to run ever since he has put my new motor in. And let me tell it has been a huge headache. The car turns over and is getting fire but will not start. Everyone keeps telling him to try this and that but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

It is difficult to give you any advise based on your description. Can you give us more details on what he has already tried to get it to run! Does he have spark and fuel? Does it fire but will not run? Some more information will be a great benefit.

GPT Dad,

Well first let me say thank you! Believe it or not you are the first person that has not just spit something out for him to try. The good news is he finally got it to run This morning. I guess from what he said it was a mix between bad injecters and a blown fuse. I think but don't hold me too it. So he changed injecters and the fuse and she fired right up. However i do have another question my husband owns a 1994 Grand Prix. The Love of his life (LOL) About a year and a half ago the transmission quit working the car will only go in reverse after it has warmed up. Any suggestions on that?

Unfortunately, this is a common sign that the transmission has gone south. He will either need to rebuild or replace the transmission. He should be able to find a good used one from a wrecking yard and pay about a third the price of a rebuild. If you can't find anything locally try car-part.com or cherry-auto.com both can help you find a transmission at a cost that won't destroy your wallet.
