engine service light
I own a 95, C-280--------------I have been reading alot about causes and potential repairs and the resetting of the fault code and the service engine light. I also own a corvette where clearing the fault code and light can be accomplished by disconnecting the battery. Can anyone tell me if I can disconnect the Mercedes battery and accomplish the same thing. Thanks for your help

since I didn't get any replies I decided to try the disconnecting of the battery-----------it did reset the service light and fault code-----I'm hoping it might have been some bad gas or who knows what that set the service light. Might be something to try before taking your car to MB for a big bill------------hopefully mine will not reset

Thanks
dougd2000,
thanks for the post, is your light still off? I will also try that and see if it helps my mothers c280 , 1996 with about 72,000 miles. the car runs fine, smooth idle, you just have to love that 6cly. this car is getting a little better than 20mpg around town, but the service light is on.
