hello, I have a 96 Jetta GLS with 117,000 miles on it. I have a persistent throttle position sensor (TPS) error code that keeps returning every time after I have the codes cleared. it is P0510 Sometimes also code P0121 comes back as well.
I am led to believe that you have to replace the entire throttle body if you need to replace the TPS, is that true? Is there something else I can do first? A throttle body is around $500 US up here in the northeast. If there is a parts place that has it cheaper than that, can someone tell me where to look? thanks in advance |

Re: throttle position sensor 96 Jetta
I checked online and found one for $338 at the first site I checked. I would have someone check it out before I replace the part though.

Re: throttle position sensor 96 Jetta
i have the same problem ....welll you can just buy the sensor mine will runn 166 dollars...they start at 120 and go up ..so good luck ..i would get a hold of the dealer for the part and make sure you have the vin number because that is goin to matter how much the part might cost....
