Please Help Me Im Desperate.....Car Bogs Out!!(Sorry So Long....Please Read!)

Here's the scoop. I bought a 1985 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale for 100 bucks at a local car auction. Fantastic car worked great body's in good shape and the inside is perfect. Until one day i was driving around in low 1 becuase a honda was following me and i just got dual flowmaster exhaust on it and it sounded awesome. I punched it to pull away from him and felt a little pop but nothing happend right away. I was driving out to my mom's house later the same day and then and it started to bog out like it was runnin out of gas. My brother changed the fuel pump the fuel filter and it still did the same thing. If its cold it runs fine but if i take it down the road it feels like it starves for gas. Then after it's cooled down for a bit i can go for about another quater mile then the same thing. So we put a whole nother carb. on it. Still the same problem its been like this for Months now. I took it to a near by mech. cause i dont have money to get it towed and he didnt touch it. It just sat down there for a couple of months. So today i finally went down and got it and i took off the charcoal canister and the filter on the bottom was awful dirty and hard. I don't even know what those things do anyway but my brother thought it might be a possibility. Please if anyone can help me i would greatly appreciate it. If i can't fix it or if it's something expensive i wont be able to afford to fix it and i will either end up selling or junking it. I don't wanna do any of them. I'm sorry this post is so long but i wanted to get all the details in. Thank you and i hope to hear from someone soon!

Maxwedge is right. This sounds like a blocked cat especially since you have a carb not fuel injection.

Once you remove or disconnect the cat take it for a ride and see what happens. If the cat is bad you can purchase a new one for less than $100 just search the web.

My brother said it could be a clogged cat too. But i doubted that because the exhaust system has only been on there a couple of months i had a new one put on cat and all. But when we went to look at the cat its different then the old one. The old one had a hose on it this one donesnt. So i'll unhook the cat and see whats up. I appreciate the advice everyone. I'll let you knoe what happends. Thank you
