My first model

I am building an Acura Integra as my first model, all I have left to do is paint the body and the final assembly. Out of curiosity. One set of the chrome wheels is ideal for the next kit I plan to build, but I want to paint them. How would i strip the chrome from the rims?

p.s.- how do I post pictures?

Chrome is easy to strip off. Soaking them for 20 minutes in household chlorine bleach, or an automotive cleaner/degreaser like CSC, Purple Power, or Simple Green will do it. Wash them afterwards with a toothbrush and a bit of dishsoap, and you're ready to paint.

If you look through the posts for the last couple of days, there's one instructing how to post pics. It may be on page 2 or 3. It's also in the FAQ.

Welcome to AF!

Re: My first model

Welcome to AF! Wow...the whole Revell/Walmart/Acura/Honda thing is like the best thing for n00bs. Do they insert a flyer for www.automotiveforums.com in every box or something?

Good luck on your 1st kit. Yea, read FAQ and search for stuff and so on...

As previously mentioned, please read the FAQ

Automotive Forums FAQ
Car Modeling FAQ

Everything you need is in those two places.
You cannot upload attachments directly to the post, that is why it says you may not.

I assume it is ok to link to my Fotki gallery, because my computer is having problems uploading to my AF gallery. All there is right now is an early engine shot of the integra. But I am going to take some more pics right now.
