Re: Air Temperature Sensor

Are you having wild dreams?
Just because it acts up in cold weather?
Air tempt. sensor tells the pcm what the intake air tempt. is.
To check it read it out in the pcm with a sanner.
While you are in there check the other readings like eng. tempt. which is different than air tempt. and other stuff and see if it has any codes.
How is your tune up plugs, fuel filter, air filter and fuel pressure and all of the good stuff that makes them run good.
What eng. and mileage?

If you haven't seen my other postings here is 1 of them

"Well since it has gotten cold out again my temp gauge is quitting and fans are running constant. It was fine all summer after having the same prob last winter.I have changed sending unit twice I had to change cooling fans because bearings went from running all the time. And its hard to get good heat at 0 degrres with fans running. If i pull the PCM fuse for at least 20 min it will be fine for a while. What part could react to outside temp to cause this. The antifreeze temp and thermo are fine its electrical i think?"

This problem does not happen all summer long it only happens when the outside temp gets below 40 degrees or so at hiway speeds(WIND CHILL)
I paid $80 on a scan to have a dealer tell me that it needs a $500 cluster panel. They say thats what the scan tells them but they will NOT gaurantee that that will solve the problem however they claim that it SHOULD cure my erractic fuel gauge that has recently gone haywire. So i thought that if the air temp sensor was bad it may be the culprit.I just ordered one so i will know shortly.I also ordered a new thermostat even know the one in it is working fine.I also ordered a map sensor to rule that out.I"M GONNA START THROWING $ AT IT UNTIL ITS FIXED OR IM BROKE
