TOD 4WD not working

i like to take my trooper off-road. the last two times i have went i got stuck in the sand. the reason for this is my TOD system is not working. when i turn it on into auto 4wd high, the TOD lights flash and the trooper never uses the front tires. when i put it into full time 4wd low, i feel the power in the rear but nothing in the front tires, and again the lights flash. Please help, i need to get back in action!

Re: TOD 4WD not working

How are your tires? Are they all the same size? Same Brand? Same mileage? Same Tire Pressure?

TOD likes all the tires to be exactly the same.

Re: TOD 4WD not working

If your 4WD low (the manual lever) isn't engaging the front wheels either, you have the same problem as me. For some reason the front hubs aren't locking so TOD and 4WD doesn't work. Could be a speed sensor, an electronic control module, a vacuum valve or even something else. My mechanic only had a few minutes to look at it and couldn't find out which problem was causing it.

The front axle not engaging at all in TOD or 4x4 mode is most likely a shift on the fly actuator issue. IIRC- it's vacuum actuated on the troopers & will be mounted on the front axle tube.
G/luck
