Gravity or Siphon feed?

I am looking to do some intricate airbrush work on 1/24 scale models. Which is better for this? I have an Eclipse Siphon feed by Iwata, and an Iwata hp-c gravity feed. I heard there is better control in the siphon feed for whatever reasons....Ive never tried doing any intricate stuff with the siphon feed. OR is this all just personal preference?

The work i am trying to do is the realistic fire and stuff like that...So any input would be greatly appreciated!Any tips from the airbrush masters here would be awesome too...any tips on the fire stuff and all would be amazing! Thanks!

Since you are wanting to do intricate work with the airbrush, I would recommend going with a dual action airbrush versus a single action. You are able to control the amount of paint that comes out thru the trigger. I am not sure how familiar you are with dual & single action airbrushes, if your not the difference is that dual action is as it sounds, its got two actions. one when you press the trigger down and air will come out, the 2nd is pulling the trigger back, which feeds the paint in and comes out of the airbrush. and the single action is what it says, it has one action when you press the trigger down air & paint come out at the same time. If you already knew this I wasn't trying to insult you at all, just trying to provide help.

As far as siphon & gravity feed I am not sure which is better for control.

Re: Gravity or Siphon feed?

Dual action, syphon feed so you can mix small quantities of paint....useful if you're doing fine detail.
