XFI and LSI Manual transmission ratios
I think I saw a post that the manual XFI transmission had different gear ratios than the one used in the standard or LSI metro.I would like to know is if the engine would rev more in 5th gear with the XFI transmission then the LSI transmission. Both trans. are out of 3 cyl cars.
Thanks steve |

Mark the output collar and the input shaft so you can visually determine when each makes a complete turn. Now in 5th gear turn the input shaft noting how many turns it takes to make the output collar turn one revolution. I highly doubt there is a difference. Perhaps you should use 4th gear. Blake |

Re: XFI and LSI Manual transmission ratios
XFI tranny has a 3.79 final drive, normal metro (including lsi) has 4.10 and convertible has a 4.39
the xfi tranny will rev lower in 5th gear than the other 2 |
