Exhaust Cutout/Bypass

Anybody have an exhaust cutout similar to this on their civic. Are there noticable gains? Are there any drawbacks other than noise and pollution?

it should actully be installed after the cat, and its essentially having two exhuasts, a regular back to the muffler and tip, and switch the plate inside and its like dumping off the headers, very loud for track use only. ive heard it gives good power increase if you have some mods done to your car, but would prolly hurt your perferomance on a regular car.
