I Need Help
I really need some help im in the process of making my VW into a porsche/VW I need to know what Porsche engine and Tranny would fit correctly, if they would? I so have heard they would cause I know some places that have ,1973, 911 5speeds for sale and some engines that would and I would like to know if ANYONE would know which engine and tranny would fit please help if you do know post here or via email me: [email protected] or AIM me if you have aim on spazzymcgee630

dude you've opened up a huge can of worms... my best guess would be to go to the place that you know of and ask them what size engines they put in there and how hard it was.

Alex,
I have a Porsche 914 1700 in my 72 Super. I bolted it to the stock Type 1 transaxle. Had to get a flywheel from a Type IV bus. It is a tight fit but works well. I have a 911 cooling fan kit for it and dual 40DCNF webers on it. If you are really interested in using a Type IV, try shoptalkforums.com and go to type 4rum. Thats were I got a lot of information.
