Disabling 2002 Explorer chimes

Can someone tell me how to disable the annoying chimes that start whenever a door is opened, the lights left on with the ignition off, etc?
Thanks!!

It's part of the GEM and CTM. Unless your willing to open the module and unsolder or break the tone generator you can't.

I was afraid that might be the case, but thanks for the info. Do you know if there is anyway to disable it through a "code"?

I don't know. But if you don't mind I'd like to ask you a question? I am being sincere. Not a wiseguy. Is the chime acting up when it shouldn't? Or you just don't like the tone or something?

The chime is functioning properly; I just would really like to get rid of it. Thanks.
