WD is only good for squeaky doors. Besides, you guys think I didnt use some? I'm talking about a twenty year old car thats never had the shocks replaced. You know the weird thing is, they really didnt look that bad.

Re: old rusted stuff sucks

I actually cut my thumb on a rusty cotter pin, it went pretty deep. Wrapped it up with a paper towel and some duct tape, 3 days later no infection

Re: old rusted stuff sucks

Once in 4th grade we were cleaning up the classroom and i stood up and had a rusty nail in my knee. It was about 2-3 inches in my knee cap. Weird thing is i have no clue how it got there. I never felt it go in, and when i got up i felt a weird feeling in my knee and i looked down and just pulled it out.

Hooray! someone finally spelled "squeaky" correctly.

I've have a couple cars with shocks like that. It is a bear for sure. I've used everything from coca cola (it does work, given time) to a rotary saw to cut the shock's shaft(if the Coke didn't work).

Automatic transmission fluid will also work, just be careful with it as it does eat paint.

Ok, ok. I just cut the stupid things off. Used a torch too. That worked pretty well to loosen the nut. You know, I just realized, I've been using Wd 40 for years now and that stuff has never loosend up shit.

The "WD" stands for "water displacement". It's good for lubricating, but doesn't loosen rust.

From what I have found, wd40 really doesn't lubricate all that well. On a rusty bolt its good for about 2 turns, then its evaporated. One of my friends used to use it on his mountain bike until he was replacing 3 chains to my 1. Asked at a bike shop why he kept wrecking chains, they told him right away without asking if he used it to stop using wd40 on it as it is an excellent degreaser.
