1963 Rambler 770 Classic

I have a 1963 Rambler 770 Classic 4 door. My question is if anyone knows if there are seat belt holes for the front and back or if I have to get them professionaly installed. Thank-you in advance.

Re: 1963 Rambler 770 Classic

Lap belts were an option on these cars.

It is possible the nuts for the belts were welded to every car, whether they got belts or not.

If you can, pull up the carpet and remove the rear seat, and look for the nuts.....they will look like small, flush mounted holes, and may be plugged oro covered with sealer.

If none are present, and aftermarket installation is required.

IMO go to a shop that sets up or builds race cars and performance chassis for installation, because they will have the right experience to do it right.

Since no shoulder belts were ever offered, such a shop will be required if you want shoulder belts, too.

Re: 1963 Rambler 770 Classic

As I recall, the entire AMC line was Motor Trend Car of the Year in '63, so be proud!

Along with the Corvette Sting Ray and Studebaker Avanti, AMC introduced curved side glass that year, a FIRST in American sedans. Also had total immersion rustproofing and other features I can't remember.

You should get copies of the award issue so you can blow the pages up for display at club meets and shows.
