1998 Chrysler Sebring Overheating

Can anyone out there anwer this question.

Out of no where my 1998 Chrysler Sebring Convertible temperature guage went to red and my car began overheating -- now I cannot run my car longer that 5 minutes before it overheats. Is it the thermostat, radiator problems or what. Please advise me if you can.

Thanks

There's really no telling until you take it to a mechanic. It could be your thermostat, radiator or water pump. The most likely candidate is your water pump.

My 1999 overheated out of the blue like that and it ended up being 3 rusted out freeze plugs. Cost me $350.

I had the same problem with my '98 jxi, freeze plugs. Luckliy I had mine replaced under my extended warranty. The car had only around 60,000 miles on it at the time.
