When did the civic si first come with DOHC? I know it was sometime around the mid 1990's. I'm looking to buy a used si, and I need some information. Also when did the si start with the recaro seats?

'99-00 Si is the first to have dohc...all the other civic si are all sohc besides the K20...

in the US you are correct.

the del sol saw the b16 before 99 though.

the first true civic with a b16 was the b16a JDM 89-91 civic SIR and the b16a JDM 89-92 civic SIR hatch. if you want to include the crx, the 89 EDM crx vti came with the b16a1.

the first true usdm civic with a b16 was the b16a2 99-00 civic si. if you want to include the del sol as a civic the 92-95 del sol came with a b16a3.

I forgot about the del sol but i dont consider that a civic...is there a JDM Si because I thought they were all Si-R...

Okay, so the si first had a DOHC (b16?) in 99 and the si r had DOHC like 8 years before. That helps a lot. But what about the seats? I love those recaro seats, did they come in all si models?

Even though they say civic del sol?

Yes there is a JDM Si.

Recaro seats were only in SI SIRs and Type-Rs
