fuel system lean??

yesterday i had stopped at the gas station and put some gas in my car, well soon as i left from there my car started acting like it would die and then rev up to 2000 rpms to 2500 rpms. It does this at an idle and while i am driving. I did a dianostics run on it and i got a code 51 which means fuel system lean. What does that mean exactly?

Re: fuel system lean??

Could be bad gas or water is gas. Try putting something in your gas tank that helps eliminate water.
