A messed up experience

well people i've been on here for a while and just thought i'd let you all know what happened to me on friday the 4th haha ... well i went up a hill climb in my jeep .. no rocks just really straight up road at night... well on the way back down on the way back down i heard a big "PoP" anyway when i finally rolled to the bottom my buddy was waiting on my cause yes hes to scared to go up the climb ... well i noticed that after i came to a stop to pick him up my jeep wouldnt go anywhere... it went into gear fine and the clutch had pressure but no movement.. at first i thought it was a transfer case but its not ... checked that after i had to walk 3 miles in about 38 degrees weather with a T-shirt on to get a truck to pull me.... i know this is a big story sorry for the boredom but what i was wondering was is there anyway i could have shattered my clutch? would it still have pressure on the peddal if its gone??

Re: A messed up experience

When you say it didn't go anywhere, when in gear and you let the clutch out did the engine:

A) Bog down and slow down, like it was in gear

or

B) Keep running freely?

Further are you able to shift the transmission normally? Did you try to put it back in 2WD?
