How to get the cig lighter in Teg Console to work...

On the site it said just solder the two red and the two blacks. Well mine has 2 reds, then one white and one black. So I soldered the 2 reds together, and the white and black together. I mated them to the old Consoles clip thing so I would attach to my stock one. I soldered everything fine just like that but it doesn't work. What could be wrong?

Assuming your setup looks something like this now

--Red--[]--Red--
--Red--[]--Red--
-white-\/-black
-black-/\-black-

i say you desoulder the ones you put together and do it up like this

--Red--[]--Red--
--Red--[]--Red--
-white-[]-black-
-black-[]-black-

------------------
Key to Diagram
------------------
-***- Indicates color of wire
[] - Indicates connection

\
/ - Indicates that you mated these two wires together

I am not sure if this is what you did, but assuming it is, I say you try what I have told you. I may be able to help you out better if you provided a more in depth description of what needs to be done and possibly some pix of the connections.

Good Luck!!!

Here's what I did...

From Teg Console-Red-\
-Red- To Civic Harness Clip----\
From Teg Console-Red-/ \
Harness Clip
From Teg Console-Black\ /
-Black- To Civic Harness Clip-/
From Teg Console-White/

I hope that all stays together!!!

But basically in words it is...

Two Reds from the Teg Console were joined into one Red wire going to the Civic Harness
One Black and One White from the Console were joined into one Black wire going to the Civic Harness
The Civic harness has two pins so one of the wires went into one and the other to the other, I'm pretty sure I matched up the colors, but maybe I should check again....

Did I miss something?? I got my console out of a '95 teg & the cigarette lighter just plugged into my stock harness. It works fine. I didn't have to do any crazy rewiring...
