big road trip coming up, your inPUT needed..

I am drivin down to TX for the thanksgivin weekend thing..
i have 2000 honda civic ex sdn... automatic...

its about a 17-24hour road trip...
bout 3000miles ROUND trip i believe...

my car is about to hit 80k miles....

my question to you all is what all should i do and prepare for this trip?


1. i know i'ma replace the battery in the next 2 weeks or so.. bout $80 i figure..

2. I'ma change the oil on it before i leave and wen i get back as well...

3. my uhm exhaust system uh needs some attentions.. my muffler is not even connected anymore seems it detached from the rest of the exhaust system.... so i gotta figure out wahts up wit that... probaly like $200 huh?

4. the tires.. i got some khumo ecsta supra 712's on they last run, pretty much gonna scrap them after this... but im' scared that what if on the way back it snows... will in be in trouble?
a. whats a good tire for the stock wheels for winter drivin? aka a tire for winter drivin on the original stock riims that came on the car?

5. ... wud else fellas?

my cuzzo at honda did a tune up on her at about 65k...


anything else yall recommend or that i need?

3000 isnt all that big of a deal. You just gotta do a few things before you should go on a long trip from home.
1) Check all fluid levels and top off/replace if needed
2) air tires to max or around max psi for best gas mileage (remember to checkl the spare).
3) fix any ongoing major problems with the car if they could leave you stranded.
4) bring a toolbox and cell phone

That's all i can think of tonight. Hope other people can add to this if i forgot something.
