Why is this forum so dead

Are M3s not as popular as I thought or dose the price have somthing to do with it? Maybe every one just talks in the 3 series forum

to AA. Every BMW techincian I've ever talked to has begged me not to touch their stuff. Dinan is much better because of the warranty/reliability.

I'm trying to track down (no pun intended) an M3 w/a Dinan SC that I was told about in my area. Can't wait to see it.

Peace,

Ronin.

Noone is doing anything in 3series forum as well.Mostly poor people who have got some mechanical skills (old school) Cause not that many people go around fixing or making their cars go faster no more. If you go to a camaro forum.....

I'll post a mods list and a looong article relating to supercharging my M3 today.

WTS; Technology might account for some of the loss of interest in DIY projects.

For example: Working on an SMG M3 requires a GT1 and a *skilled* operator. Even when doing something as simple as replacing the brake fluid.

That tool costs app $20K and software updates aren't cheap. Plus learning to use it .... not easy.

I just read about the new EVO SMG loaded w/a host of tech driver aids (even active steering; YECH!). One complicated machine.

So it's not just german cars that are affected.

As our cars become ever more dependent on computerization, we'll also find MFGs encrypting their software to impede modders (ie; aftermarket changes). There are indications of this happening thru BMW AG now.

Aftermarket MFGs w/software tuning/decrypting (is that the proper term?) ability, like Dinan and Conforti, will remain well ahead of the competition. And hopefully give us some goodies to drool over and chat about.

BTW, how about some rumor-mongering .... I heard from a reliable soource that Dinan and Conforti worked together on the software tuning for Dinan's M3 supercharger. Anyone know if it's true?

Peace,

Ronin.

Re: Why is this forum so dead

Nice E36 M3s

I want to upgrade to one but just can’t seem to find one in 200 miles of me that isn’t a vert, an automatic, or has less than 80K miles. So I guess I am stuck with the Cobra for a while longer.

Here is some pics of my all time favorite M3…I would do just about anything to get some seat time in one of these on a track
