question about replacing valve seals

my 89 civic dx sedan has smokes and used oil pretty bad since i got it, and now it smokes even more since i put a high flow cat on it. i am going to replace the valve seals soon, and was just wondering how difficult it is. what all do i have to take off to get to the valves?

any info would be appreciated.
