1990 Lumina oil problem

My 1990 Lumina has 68000 miles. It started losing oil recently. I had it checked for leaks and discovered that it was pretty tight, just some slight seepage. But it has started to smoke when you start it. It does this only at start up. It runs great with no miss or hesttaion. Any thoughts!!

Re: 1990 Lumina oil problem

Smoke at start up usually indcates worn valve stem seals. Nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on your oil level. CD-2 makes an engine oil stop leak that helps soften hardened seals, as well as swell shruken ones. IT works pretty well and has never caused any adverse side effects on any old beater I put it in.
