Transmission mount

I have a 91 accord automatic, and it shifts HARD when I'm slowing down (you can hear it click into gear), I am wondering if it is the mount, or possibly the cables. I don't know how to tell if the mount is bad, but I've heard if the CV joints are bad, that can cause it to "clunk," (my joints are bad), but I'm not sure its the problem.

Re: Transmission mount

does it click when you go around corners, because bad CV's will do that. It could be the mounts or i think it could be something w/ vaccuum......i know that if the vaccuum is bad, it shifts hard when accelerating, but you'll have to wait for some more info from someone else......

I know about the clicking around corners, but it clicks when I slow down to like 10 mph. Also, if I'm slowing down (not stopping) to like 15 mph and start accelerating again it shifts VERY hard.

But wouldn't vaccuum give me a code? I'm not getting an S-light code (typically for the transmission). If it is vaccuum, what kind of stuff can you think of. Before I got the car, someone put a crappy ass cold air filter on it. It sounds like a friggin whistle when its idling at a light. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

Re: Transmission mount

does it idle roughly?? Vaccuum could be something as simple as a really dirty or wet air filter. Vaccuum problems won't give you a code necessarily. When the vaccuum is all messed up, the car will shift like it would at wide open throttle.......

Re: Transmission mount

I changed the idle last week because it was too low, the air filter is good, its only like 2000 miles old.
