heat doesn't work good

I have a 96 blazer LT. I had it for about a 1.5 years. Ever since I bought it the heat hasn't worked right. The dealer flushed out the cooling system after I bought it. I changed the thermostat last winter and got all of the air out of the system because it was making that funny noise behind the dash. Also got a new radiator cap. After I did those things the heat did get a little warmer but not much...

It's been starting to get cold here and would like to get if fixed before it really gets cold. I thought it might be the heater core. Tonight when I got home I the checked the heater hoses. The one was very warm, could hardly touch it. The other one was warm too but not like the other one. I also took notice that the lower radiator hose was cold when I touched it.

The windsheild doesn't steam up or anything but I do get a funny smell inside the vehicle sometimes...

I was planning on changing the heater and radiator hoses this weekend or next since they need to be changed and thought I would get the other parts, if needed at the same time.

Does it sound like the heater core or something else?

Thanks

do a acid backflush directly on the heater core, and change out your thermostat... That should fix it...
