V6 3.4 Camaro ICV
Hello to all.
I have a question about a 1990 (I believe) 3.4 Camaros Idle Compensating Valve/Solenoid. I have replaced the ICV twice due to a very high idle- around 2000-3000 rpms. Prior to changing the valve, if the ignition was shut of and restarted, the idle would hold for a while. It is still doing it with the new ones. Someone suggested that we oil the new one. I suspect that it could be the computer. I had inspected a older Camaros fuel pump and found that it was receiving only 5 volts. The computer was replaced and the problem was solved. Is it possible that the computer is sending or not sending the proper signal to the valve. Any suggestions are welcomed. Thank you in advance. Chuckster |

Re: V6 3.4 Camaro ICV
The 3.4 V6 wasn't in a 1990, it's either a 1990 with a smaller V6 or a 1993+ camaro.

Re: V6 3.4 Camaro ICV
Well if it's a 1990 and you have a valve for a 3.4 than that's a problem... same thing for if it's a 3.4 and you got a valve for a 1990

You are right. It is a 1995 Camaro. Any ideas? |

Maybe try the throttle position sensor?

Re: V6 3.4 Camaro ICV
I've heard of them, not too much much about people having them go out on them...

95, plug in the OBD scanner (not sure if you have OBDI or OBDII) and see if it turns up any codes (not all codes set the SES light)

Hey Buddy welcome to the boards, but don't bring up old threads like this. If you have something new to say create a new thread, and if neccesary link to it...
