"Theft Attempted"...resulting from dead/replaced battery...
OK. I've got a bit of a "good news...bad news" situation here.
Good news: 1) My 02 has finally been moved to my new garage along with all my other cars and tools. 2) I got the battery to hold a charge and finally got the car powered up. 3) I was able to fix the flat tire that I've had. Bad news: 1) After I powered up the car, the "Theft Attempted" message displayed in the DIC and won't allow the car to crank. 2) Still have the re-replace the lower radiator hose cause the alternator pully sliced into it. So. Question is: Can I bypass the theft system so I can start the car an get it to a mechanic to reset the system? I've got plenty of tools and several scanners as well. I've been told that I can use a good scan tool to reset the security system. But, I'd rather not attempt this unless others have tried. All in all, the car is slowly coming back to life. However, with winter approaching, I'm wondering if I should just take one of the other cars out of the garage and store the Aurora for the cold season. I'd rather not do that though, I like this car. I dunno, maybe it's time to take the jag out for a while...
