samurai that won't shut off

i have an 87 samurai that will run a few seconds after i turn turn the key off. any ideas of what is making it do this?

probably timing, but could also be the carb sammi's are famous for carb trouble, I swapped in a pony carb and never looked back.

i have a problem too mine runs on and is running to rich i cant get the electric choke off it it keeps bogging out any ideas anyone ?
