|
i went to the store to buy some stuff everythings fine, come back a few minutes later my isuzu trooper 2000 (burning oil) dont wanna start all i hear is click, i took the starter off ,and have it checked by advanced automotive store and came out good starter, battery is good aswell i noticed that the check engine light is on what would be the problem? is my engine blown ? please help any advice is highly appreciated

First you should check to make sure the battery terminals are clean and that the cables are making good contact and tight. If this doesn't help you are likely looking at a bad starter. The fact that you are hearing the solenoid engage at least rules out the starter relay, chances are the solenoid contacts that energize the starter motor are pitted or worn. Bench testing a starter can sometimes show that it works fine despite worn contacts since the starter solenoid doesn't have as much force acting against it. Since it isn't moving the starter gear against the flywheel it can move farther, so the worn contacts make better contact with one another. You can either replace the contacts or replace the starter.

i did checked everything that you said steve and everything is ok ,i even removed the serpetine belt and try to turn the flywheel but it never turn, it is possible to blow the engine by starting a car? cause the check engine light is stays on , i need some help please
