Car wont start...

i have a 75 el camino that i'm working on... its has the 350 in it and i recently took off the valve covers, took the rockers off and all that good stuff so i could clean up the heads a little bit, i put on new gaskets, filled it back up with oil and tried to start it.... it just cranks and cranks and cranks. i took the spark plugs out in the process of putting the rockers back on so the engine was easier to turn overby hand. i check to make sure the wires are all correct. it has gas. i canty figure it out. i pumped the gas pedal acouple times and that did nothing. it just turns... leads me to beleive its an electric problem. because i put some gas in the carb and it still wouldnt start for a second. any suggestions? i'm like 99% sure all the valves are where they should be after reinstalling the rockers so i dont think thats it.

Re: Car wont start...

Got spark?, if so back off on the rockers till you have some lash at tdc. If it starts then go thru the proper valve adjsutment.
