Blue Smoke

Ever time I down shift or engage VTEC the person behind me always informs me of large amounts of smoke, I thought this was alright from a perforamnce honda just burning off ex fuel so I didn't think anything of it. Over a period of time I noticed that I was going through oil ery fast and noticed it was blue smoke(burning oil) instead of black. I am thinking of replacing the rings on the pistons because thats what we would do on some support Equipment in this case. I wanted to get a second opiion of what could be wrong. Before a take the time to do all this work yall know a lot more about hondas then I do. but then again its the flipside when dealing with equipment on a Aircraftcarrier.

Re: Blue Smoke

probably old rings, but then again it could be something worse. I would assume it's rings until you get the thing open. Wouldn't hurt to go ahead and change your head gasket/any small oil gaskets while you've got the thing opened up.

Re: Re: Re: Blue Smoke

Had the exact same problem on my Sol. All I did is changed the PCV valve and bottom hose to the valve from the engine block. The valve and hose were pluged and presure was building in the crankcase and pushing oil thru seals and passed the rings and would smoke blue during high revs
