W.I.P. '70 Dodge Superbee Pro Street

Hi I'm working on the Dodge Superbee from AMT.
The kit is very detailed and I can choise 2 diffrents engines: HEMI or DOHC. I made the HEMI.

So what's in:

The hood is cutted so the engine will come trough the hood:

Alright.... then I maked the chasis. Wich is matt black with some alu details.

The engine is equipped with some sparkwires en painted in HEMI orange with some chrome details etc. etc.

The enginebay is the same colour as the body (tamiya Pearl Yellow)

and this is the enginebay after some paintwork. The carb. are hanging on braided wires and will be glued on the engine of course

And here with the engine:

Now I have glued the engine in the enginebay and the battery is added with a +/- wire but it had to dry. Maybe in the evening some pics

Let me now what you think about it

Kris.
(some off topic questions: How can I get an avator and how can I get a picture under my posts?)

So I'm a little bit farther with the engine and now it's done!

The battery is fitted and also the carbs.

here are the completed photo's:

Now I have to fit the frontwheels and the subframe so that will be the next update.

let me know what you think about the whole engine stuff!

So finally I can upload my pics again. There were some problems with AF albums.

So here's a scratchbuild radiatorhose:

And than I finished the whole engine:

you can see some black paint on the right side (seen from the picture) I will clean it.

Now I'm doing the texture on the tires. I don't know how to say it but the letters must be white.
I have tryed some tricks but nothing works. I have to take time for it because it's a frustrating work. (does anyone have some tips about painting the tires?????)

So I made some pics today with the body and the hood but I couldn't keep the tires away so I put them all together.

Here's the photoshoot :

I have made many more pics but there's almost no different between these pics.

Hope you like it!
And tips are always welcome!

Cool looking build so far, here is a few pics of a GTX Prostreet that I built quite a few years ago.

Regarding your question about painting the letters on the tyres, I always use Tamiya XF-2 using a very small brush, then shoot some flat or satin clear over the top to protect them, on the back of this GTX, I used GOOD YEAR decals, as the tyres didn't have any lettering on to start with. Hope to see your car finished soon, any idea on a colour scheme yet?

Yes the colour will be Pearl Yellow from Tamiya.
Same colour as the enginebay. I only hope to buy a Pearl Clear rattlecan. But in my city there's nobody who sells it.

That GTX is really nice. I had the same idea to make a wheeliebar but how did you make this? Or was it included by the kitt?

Maybe I can find some pics on the internet en than scratchbuild one.

Keep it coming

Cool

Hi, the wheelie bar was included in the kit, I'll take some pictures of the underside of the car so you'll get a better idea as to how they went together, I'll post them up tomorrow, btw why do you want to find "pearl clear"? just use the "normal" clear that you use all the time as the pearl yellow is already, "hmm" pearl, so you don't need any special pearl clearcoats
