digital dash lights

just have a 1989 Jimmy 4X4 with digital display the speedo and mile endacator work fine but the timp., fuel and other digital displays do not light up with the exception of the seat belt light. I have checked all fuses under the dash and all is ok their. I was wanting to know if its the whole dash diplay that needs to be replaced or is there a simpler fix....Thanks for your help...Ben

You need to edit what you wrote. No one can understand what problem you described.

I agree with Jimmy, it's fairly unclear...Are you saying only the speedo, brake and fuel gauges light up and everything is dead?

Common problem with the early digital dashes, if you know something about electronics, then you need to desolder the transformer from the back of these units and install a new one. The easier way is to just get it refurbished. A guy on e-bay rebuilds them, and is very good, and fairly reasonable price too.
