I have an automagic maxima se. I was wondering if i could get the vb mod done at any transmission place, and if so, where would i go about purchasing the parts needed for the mod. Thanks for any help.

Their are only Two VB mods you can buy... Don's and Transgo's. Don's is a no brainer, pull yours out and send it to him, he sends it back. You put it in, it works, shazam. The transgo requires you to pull your VB apart and change some bearings, springs, and drill some holes. It takes a lot of work and most tranny shops won't mess with either of these. However, Don's is $450, and the transgo is $45 or so, but Don's is better. Check out www.mobiletek.net and www.txchange.com

:o)

1.) You guys forgot about Level 10.

2.) I had my VB mod done by my local transmission shop. It would have been $250 but it ended up being $85 because they were in there anyway for some other work. They put in the new springs and drilled the holes. It works just was well as Don's and Level 10's. These guys know what they are doing and have performed this on many race/drag cars over the years. However, I wouldn't trust just any transmission shop, make sure they know what they are doing.

Good luck.

Re: :o)

Yeah, that's true, their is Level 10, but they charge $650 for basically the same thing Don sells, that's why I didn't mention them. If you can find a performance tranny shop to do the work, that would probably be much better, that way you get a warranty with the work...

www.txchange.com I installed it my car before, took about 5-6 hours, but I was installing NOS items at the same time. It requires completely disassembaling the VB, so if your not a great mechanic, I wouldn't try it on your own...
