new head unit

my factory head unit stopped playing cd's. are there any units that are flush with the rest of the consol, i don't want one that sticks out too far. i'll let you guys know which one i was looking at once i go back to circuit city and find it again. the guy "said" it will be really flush but not perfect, but he probably just wanted my money or something. so any help would by appreciated.

yeah there are lots of options that will be almost flush, but not perfect. they are usually pretty expensive though.

I love my head unit. Kenwood KDC-X979. It has a crap load of configuraion options, and multiple angles the face can be positioned at.

Here is a link to one of many places that sell it cheap.

its a motorized flip down. i hit the button and it folds down by itself. its not one of those that you hit the button and the face just falls down.

Re: new head unit

do head units make the sound sound better, for a higher quality sound.

Yes they do. However, make sure that you are spending money on function and not just fashion (ie. performance, not looks). A sweet looking head unit may not be as good as a more modest looking one. It's up to you if you are going for performance or looks.

Re: new head unit

I'd go with the panasonic. I have had pretty much everyone of the brand named decks made and for the money the panasonic decks have always been best IMO.
