Why do you want to put in a 305? That engine sucks

First place I'd point ya to is Advance Adapters.

I have to agree with Sux, if your gonna through the trouble of swapping an engine, why not go ahead with a 350? Unless ya just have a 305 lieing around.

You will need an aftermarket radiator to handle cooling, new motor mounts welded onto the frame, new exhaust, a different transmission (the one behind your 4 cyl just wont cut it for long and Im not sure theres an adaptor for the 4 cyl trannies), an adaptor (depending on what tranny you pick) for the transfer case, you may have to change the length of the front and rear driveshaft if the tranny you choose is much longer or shorter than the stock one, you may have to cut the floor for a new shifter, the stock D35 rearend will really be tested with the added HP of a V8 especially if you run larger tires and offroad it. Most of the time its just more cost effective to do a whole engine/tranny/t-case swap from a FWD pickup or something instead of messing with adaptors.

The performance gain wouldn't be the significant with a 305. It has a 2 bolt main and will add a ton of weight to your jeep. Besides with the price of gas these days, your better off with a 4 cyl. Supercharge your jeep! Check out Avenger superchargers
