Probe the leads where the position sensor(s) feed a signal back to the ICM, see if there is a pulse, or check with a test light to see if the injectors are pulsing.

Might help tell you if signalling is the problem, or if something else is happening. Got all wiring accounted for I guess? Nothing got pinched or stretched? Fuseable links (if any) good?

Fuses?

Threaten it with a big hammer? :0

I do not have the cam sensor pluged in because i cant find where it is to plug it in. I also am not sure what wire it is because 2 of them are the same plugs and the same color. One goes by the half shaft and one is just hanging there.

Re: lumina z34 engine switch but no spark

Make sure the one by the shaft isn't supposed to go to a crank sensor right by the crank pulley, I honestly never looked at one of those engines long enough to notice much...does it have a cam AND crank sensor?

I think it will run with the cam sensor disabled, but not without crank sensor signal.

Home CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOROn your 1993 CHEVROLET LUMINA-SEDAN/COUPE, the CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR is:
UNDER HOOD, PASSENGER SIDE, UPPER ENGINE AREA,
BETWEEN CYLINDER HEADS, MOUNTED BEHIND THE POWER
STEERING PUMP RESERVOIR.

Home CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOROn your 1993 CHEVROLET LUMINA-SEDAN/COUPE, the CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR is:

UNDER H00D, PASSENGER SIDE, UPPER ENGINE AREA, REAR
CORNER OF ENGINE, MOUNTED BELOW EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Found on Autozone's site, I just picked 1993 as I don't think you stated your year....

Re: lumina z34 engine switch but no spark

Huh. double checked that...according to AZ, the '92 has no cam position sensor, and the crank sensor is behind the crank pulley like I said earlier.

If your donor was a '93 or later, that's the problem, it has a differnt engine control system than your car. You will need the ECM and maybe a harness from the donor car...

Re: lumina z34 engine switch but no spark

The crank sensor on a 92 is in the back of the block, there is no 24x signal sensor (the one behind the balancer) in a 92 Z-34, or either Lumina V-6 for that matter, 3.1 or 3.4. IF the donor engine is a 93, they have both crank sensors (in the back of the block and behind the balancer), and like Jeffco said, you'll need the harness and ECM from the engine donor car to make the swap work. THe 93 3.1 also has a cam sensor, where the 3.4X dosen't(it's a DOHC engine).
