Question fuel in oil?

i was wondering if you could help me out...this is my first time on this forum...i have a 1989 GM 2500 4x4 pick up with a 305...and my problem is that we are finding fuel in the oil pan...and we can't seem to figure out why this is happening...does anyone here have any ideas on what we should look for to figure this out...any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated...i need help with this as soon as possbile as this is our plow truck and with winter on it's way we'd like to get this figured out soon

you probably have worn piston rings that allow the gas to seep past the pistons into the crankcase below. Try a compression test, that might help determine whats wrong too... also, make sure your pcv valve system is working properly because if it doesnt, the gas that makes it to the crankcase will just stay there

Usually it is an injector that is either leaking or stuck open. Is your mileage crap? Does it smoke a little? (black) Does it idle rough? If you start looking at these things you will find the cause.

mileage is not bad...it does smoke a bit...but other than that...it rides great...just the fact that there is alot of fuel in the oil...but thanks for all the suggestions
