2000 Century Starter Replacement

Can anyone give me any advice on replacing the starter on my 2000 Century, 3.1 V6? Is the starter located on the firewall side of the engine or the grill side? Is it just the electrical connections and two mounting bolts? Any shims required? Anything else?

Thanks,

The starter and starter solenoid on a 3.1 or 3.4 is located on the grill side, driver's side of the engine. The electrical connections will be very obvious on the solenoid ( 2 or 3) but be sure to disconnect the battery negative before performing replacement. I don't recall having to use shims for starter to flywheel clearance. Shims are only used to correct engagement problems or noise. But if it has shims be sure to put them back in the original location. Good luck!
