99 rodeo 2wd auto only reverse unless i put it into winter mode

when in normal mode i only have reverse.i press the winter button and i get drive and reverse. no lower gears just drive

The winter button starts the 4L30E off in 3rd gear. Somehow 1st and 2nd are not working. Will she go if you put the gear selector in 1st instead of "D"? Do the "PRND321" dash lights coincide with the floor shifter? (range sensor issue)

when shifteing into any other forward gear while in winter mode we get zero. shifter and das lights coincide.

When you say you get *drive* is just staying in 3rd or 4th gear taking off from a stand-still? Or will it go thru it's normal shift pattern 1-2-3-D(4)? Almost sounds like a broken wire somewhere. Either that or internal trans issues.

I HAVE NOT DRIVEN MORE THEN IN THE PARKING LOT. I WILL CHECK THAT...ONE ODD THING... WHEN I HAVE THIS THING ON THE LIFT AND I CHECK THE FORWARD GEARS...IN NORMAL MODE,THE TIRES SPIN AND ACCELERATE AS IF I WAS TO PLACE IT ON THE GROUND I WOULD HAVE NO ISSUE WHAT SO EVER. THIS IS WHY I THING IT IS NOT INTERNAL AS MUCH AS ELECTRICAL. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!!!!
