With out any luck through google I came here. Anybody Know the 0-60 time for a 2500HD DMAX.
Also with the new DMAX engine that produces 360 HP and 650 pounds of Tq was there any changes to the engine or did they just tune it different. Heres a link to there engine optsions everything looks the same.

Sorry you have to click engine and it shows both on bottom the LLY and LBZ

Thanks for your help

Re: New DMAX Diesel Engine

Must be... I was looking to see if the compression was different on it or something, but they are identical

Re: Re: New DMAX Diesel Engine

As for the 0-60 times I cannot help there. I have driven the new DMAX, its a beast, it only had 7 miles on it so it will only get stronger, after about 1000 rpm it pulls as hard as my buddy's SS, pulls way harder than my parents 05 powerstroke.

Here is where the power difference comes from

The Duramax 6600's horsepower and torque increase and emissions reduction are enabled by a strengthened iron cylinder block and a lower compression ratio. The lower compression reduces stress on the engine by reducing the peak cylinder firing pressure. This, in turn, allows more fuel to be burned - more fuel means more power - while the lower compression helps reduce NOx emissions. Lower compression also helps reduce noise and vibration, making the all variants of the 6600 a quieter and smoother engine.

Here is the link to a great article

Once I find a new Dmax with the options I want, im trading in the 1500

Re: New DMAX Diesel Engine

Don't forget it is "detuned" in 1st and 2nd gear (with the Allison) so as not to scatter that expensive little tranny down the highway. The Allison is only rated at 550 lbs. of Tq. The HP/TQ rating is what the engine actually is dyno'd at, not what it will dyno off the dealer lot with a truck around it. The friends I have that have driven the new DMax (dealers) say it feels identical, and only slightly quicker on the interstate when in the highest gears. Detuning the engine to compensate for the trans just sucks.

The 06 D Max has some internal changes including new heads and a lower compression ratio.
Fuel pressure has been increased also.

The LBZ DMax will be coming out..the only change is calibrations to raise the HP up 50 and the Torque up 45 more.
Add the 6 speed Allison and its a sweet ride
