Needs help for rebuilding A604

I'm currently rebuilding my A604, and looking for some help.

First, I found those steel plates are different on each side, one side has sharp edge and the other is rounded, so how should them be placed?

Then, after I installed /OD pressure plate, I found it's kind loose, is it suppose be positioned there snugly by the two rings (flat/tapered snap ring)?

Has anyone been use Alto L/R case saver clips, is it worthwhile and is there any side effects?

Many thanks in advance,

Lon

Re: Needs help for rebuilding A604

Sorry to say it but you need a pro Trans Rebuilder to build a 604, in order to help you build a 604 you not only know the specs but you also have to have that "feely touchy" to get all the clutch clearences in place, 604 is one of the Trans that do not use a band or sprag, all clutches,
Building Trans is what I do for a living and I'm not atemp to tell you how thru these words

Thx Mai, I don't have that "feely touchy", that's why I'm using dial meter.

Re: Needs help for rebuilding A604

There is a Rebuild book from ATSG that would help you big time, check around for a Transmission part place call AXIOM, they sell parts and books

After searching all over the world find this, the [b]sharp edge and rounded edge[b] for every steel plate is caused by "Die cutting processing", some mechanic said it's not matter facing which direction as long as they are facing same side, others said the sharp edge side should face to the pressure side to avoid excessive hub wearing.
